Montana Highway Patrol officers survey a vehicle crash site Tuesday. A Wisconsin man died after colliding with a construction vehicle on U.S. Highway 2 east of Havre.

A Wisconsin man died Tuesday east of Havre when he crashed into a Mack truck working on the construction zone on U. S. Highway 2.

Stephen C. Meyer of Marshfield, Wis., 61, was killed in the crash, reported to local law enforcement officials at 7:31 a. m.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol crash report, Meyer was eastbound on the highway when the construction truck pulled out of the old rest area on the north side of the highway. The truck traveled westbound a short distance before turning south into a construction area.

The Yamaha motorcycle struck the truck, then skidded northwest and came to rest on the roadway. Speed may have been a factor, the report said.

Meyer was wearing a helmet.
