Havre Middle School seventh grader Isaac Warp runs with the ball during the HMS football jamboree Saturday in Havre.
With another weekend of football in the books, the Hi-Line saw another weekend filled with its share of ups and downs for local teams.
The Northern C 8-Man Chinook Sugarbeeters stayed on pace to be the most dominating team in the Class C on Friday. The No. 1 Beeters hosted Cascade and handed another opponent a crushing loss, this team defeating Cascade 68-14.
The Beeters opened strong with a 34-point first quarter and never looked back. They added six in the second quarter and total of 28 more in the second half. And the Beeters' defense was just as impressive, not allowing Cascade to score until late, when the game was already out of reach.
Ben Stroh put together another dominating game for the Beeters.
Stroh carried the ball just eight times, but put up 179 yards. Stroh averaged over 22 yards per carry and accounted for six of the Beeters touchdowns. Stroh had a 65-yard rushing touchdown, a three-yard rushing touchdown, a six-yard rushing touchdown and a 53-yard rushing touchdown. Stroh also returned two punts for a score, one from 45 yards and the other from 50 yards.
Jacob MacLean also scored two touchdowns for the Beeters. MacLean rushed for a nine-yard score and 40-yard score. And Gunderson punched in a 35-yard touchdown for the Beeters as well.
Now sitting at 3-0 on the year, the Beeters will play next when they travel to face Power-Dutton-Brady on Saturday.

The Northern C 8-Man Hays-Lodge Pole Thunderbirds also played on Friday, but suffered a tough, 70-12 loss to Fairview. The loss was the second straight and second of the season for the Thunderbirds and dropped their record to 0-2.

Chester/J-I 30, Centerville 22
On Saturday the Northern C 8-Man Chester/J-I Hawks also grabbed another win in what looks to be a solid start to their season.
While on the road the No. 10 Hawks defeated the Centerville Miners 30-22 in comeback fashion.
After falling behind 6-0 after the first frame and 22-0 at the half, it took a major Hawks surge in the second half to ensure the win. And it was Leonard Pugsley who got things rolling for the Hawks, when he busted a 75-yard run for a touchdown in the third quarter. Erik Kelly also grabbed a one-yard rushing touchdown, and with both two point conversions succesfull, the Hawks found the deficit narrowed to 22-16 just like that.
In the fourth quarter Jordan Oraw added to the comeback efforts with a 35-yard run and score to help the Hawks earn a 24-22 lead, and Pugsley added the finishing touches with another TD run, this time from three-yards out.
The Hawks' defense played a major role in the Saturday afternoon win. After giving up22 points to the Miners, the Hawks locked up the Miners offense in the second half and didn't allow another point.
Friday brings yet another game for the Hawks, when they host Fort Benton.

Savage 58, Big Sandy 21
Unfortunately for the Big Sandy Pioneers, they were not able to find the win column in Class C 6-man action on Saturday, as they suffered a tough, 58-21 loss to Savage. The Pioneers dropped to 1-1 with the loss and didn't look like the explosive team that blew out Terry last weekend at home.
The Pioneers fell behind 22-14 in the first quarter. They trailed, but remained close. But after being shutout in the second and third frames, they quickly fell behind 52-14 heading into the final frame. In the fourth, the Pioneers scored one touchdown, but didn't gain much ground as Savage also scored again in the fourth, after posting 16 in the second and 14 in the third.
Big Sandy's first score came on a one-yard Justin Stevens run, and the second came on a three-yard Stevens run. The third score came by Jace Solf in the fourth quarter, on a three-yard pass from Zac Leader.
Sitting at 1-1, the Pioneers will take to the field Saturday when they host Stanfore-Geysor.
