Local Bowling Report: Donate canned food items, get free bowling

BOWL FREE from Dec. 18 to Jan. 18. People who come out to open bowling during the week and weekends may receive up to three free games of bowling. All they have to do is to bring out three cans of food and they will get three free lines of bowling. The cans of food will be donated to the Food Bank. League bowlers are asked to bring out cans of food and they will be given a free line of bowling up to three games. Rules and times for the bowling will be posted. There will be drop off bins at the lanes. For more information call Hi Line Lanes at 265-5885.

TOURNEY TRAIL: P.B.A. results 12-11-11. This week the format was different, with 4 bowlers starting out; 3 international bowlers and 1 from the U.S.A. Coming out on top and advancing to the finals on Jan. 15th was Osku Palerman from Finland defeating Dom Barrett 223 to 188.

TIP OF THE WEEK: Last week we discussed the standard fingertip grip; this week the dropped ring finger grip. The middle finger goes into the ball as a finger-tip while the ring finger goes into the ball deeper to allow increase revolutions with less effort. Also there is less stress on the thumb
