HELENA — Medical marijuana providers are preparing for possible charges a day after federal and local authorities raided their pot operations across Montana.

But the U.S. attorney's office is mum about the case.

Officials from the Drug Enforcement Agency, the FBI, the Bureau of Tobacco and Firearms and local authorities raided at least 10 medical marijuana businesses in six cities across Montana on Monday.

Christopher Williams, a partner with Montana Cannabis, says his four stores across the state were among those raided and more than 1,600 marijuana plants were confiscated from his greenhouse outside Helena.

Williams said Tuesday he and his business partner are anticipating an indictment from a federal grand jury, but do not know on what charges. Federal officials have declined to discuss possible charges.
