When I'm Gone

by Bonnie Campos

When I die, like all we must,

And from this earth I flee,

No service, no wake, no lying in state

Just do one thing for me.

I've not been perfect, but no one is,

So go ahead and name

The bad I have been guilty of,

I will accept the blame.

I've done some good along the way

So don't forget that too,

Remember what you must of me

That's all I ask of you.

Give a minute here and there

Maybe hum a little song,

No big tribute, no ringing bells

Just think of me when I'm gone.
