9C Girls: Chinook 38, Big Sandy 35 (SF)

The Chinook girls basketball team will finally have its chance to win a first-ever District 9C title. On Friday afternoon at the HHS gymnasium, the Sugarbeeters held off Big Sandy 38-35 to advance to Saturday's 9C tournament championship game. Mahkayla Farmer scored 15 points for the Beeters, who will await the winner of Box Elder and Hays-Lodge Pole in saturday night's title game. The Pioneers got 16 points by Mackenzie Jenkins and will play North Star in a loser-out game Saturday at 8 a.m.
