Democrats fired up for 2012


Despite a low turnout attributed to conflicting events, Democrats at a fundraiser in Havre Friday had a common theme — they want to keep the offices they have, and try to take back more in the next election.

Sharla Tester, speaking for her husband, U.S. Sen. Jon Tester, who could not attend, said the party members need to support their candidates.

"We need to have Democrats win in this state, " she said.

The fundraiser had near-record low numbers — about 45 people attended — and Hill County Democratic Party Chair John Musgrove said the scheduling may have contributed.
