Floods in the Hays area prompted concern and some evacuations Saturday.

Highway 66 was flooded, the water was rising and rain continued to fall Saturday afternoon.

Fort Belknap police said Mission Canyon Creek was overflowing and the highway was impassable.

"The water is rising, and it is becoming impassible," an officer said Saturday.

Mary WhiteCow, a Hays resident who evacuated her home Saturday afternoon, said "it was like a flash flood."
