Breaking Sports: North Stars win on day one

The Havre North Stars picked up right where they left off last weekend. Havre opened the 2011 Northern A District Tournament with an 1--1 thrashing of the Lethbridge Miners Thursday morning in Great Falls. Brandon Smith picked up the complete-game win for Havre while Justin Jensen went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. The win pushes Havre into the winner's bracket where it awaits the winner of today's game between second-seeded Fort MacLeod and seventh-seeded G.F. Stallions. Havre plays again at 4 p.m. on Friday.
