Martha J. Vaile, 85, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, at her home in Havre of cancer. Cremation has taken place, and her memorial service will be 11 a. m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at Pepin Park, with Pastor Rusty Farmer officiating. A luncheon will follow at the St. Jude's Parish Center.

Memorials in Martha's honor may be made to Bear Paw Hospice, P.O. Box 1231, Havre, MT 59501. Arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

Martha was born April 3, 1926, in Browning, Mont., to Charles and Alice Rose Juneau. She was raised and educated in Browning and married Kenneth C. Vaile. The couple made their home in Browning, where Martha worked for the hospital for 20 years. The couple moved to Havre in June 1969, and Martha went to work at Northern Montana Hospital, where she worked in the business office for 17 years before she retired. Martha and her husband Kenneth were devout members of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, and Martha was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening in the spring and summer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Vaile; two brothers; and five sisters.

She is survived by her daughters, Geri and Cindy Vaile of Havre, Mont. ; a special niece, Cathy Rose Bucchler of Billings; sons, Harold (Donna) Vaile of Fort Worth, Texas, and Scott (Chris) Vaile of Milwaukee, Wis. ; caregivers, Eldora Bauer, Marge Robinson, Maryann Smith and Donna Vaile; her brother, Ken (Joe Crow) Juneau of Browning; five grandchildren, K.C. Khris Vaile of Fort Worth, Texas, Brandon Sharples of the U. S. Navy, Adam and Kirby Vaile of Milwaukee; and two special granddaughters, Katie and Danni Wirtzberger.
