Breaking Sports: Skylights 71, Rocky 56

Make it two in a row. One night after turning away Carroll College, the MSU-Northern women's basketball team kept playing well. On Saturday night in Havre, the Skylights took care of Rocky Mountain College, 71-56 to improve to 2-3 in Frontier Conference play.

MSU-N (11-10) used a 10-0 run and a barrage of 3-pointers to take a 38-21 halftime lead, and the Skylights never let the Bears back in the game. Samm Schermele poured in a game-high 25 points, while Courtney Blume added 21 points, including a perfect 11-of-11 free throw performance.

The Skylights are on the road next weekend to face league leaders Westminster and LC State.
