Christmas Lights Tour winners announced

With another successful Christmas Lights Tour under its belt, the Hill County Community Foundation has announced the winners of the contest held during the tour.

The passengers on North Central Montana Transit buses, during the tour of Havre Christmas decoration displays, voted for their favorite decorations, with Donna Biem taking first, Terry Leonard taking second and Nick Lowen placing third.

The foundation, which manages a trust to provide funds for projects meeting its goal of enaging "Hill County residents in the support and enhancement of our community, " revived the tour of displays of decorations two years ago. After canceling the tour last year due to severe weather, the tour took place again this year, on Tuesday.

The tour was sponsored by North Central Montana Transit; Hill County Electric; Triangle Communications; Master Sports, which provided the first-place prize, a $100 Master Sports Gift Certificate; Lorang Law, which provided a $50 Havre Area Chamber of Commerce gift certificate; and the law offices of Bosch, Kuhr, Martin, Dugdale and Kaze, which provided a $25 Chamber gift certificate, the third-place prize.

The tour cost participants $5 each, which will go to fund the endowment managed by the community foundation, an affiliate of the Montana Community Foundation.
