Chester Herschel Moore

Chester Herschel Moore, 86, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at his home of natural causes. Cremation has taken place, and his celebration of life service will be 1 p. m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011, at 1068 Grant Ave.

Memorials in Chet's honor may be made to a memorial of one's choice. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

Chester was born Aug. 20, 1925, in Valier, Mont., to Dewey and Luna (Gernaat) Moore. He was raised and educated in the Valier area. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served in World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Chet married Cathy Sexton on Sept. 18, 1988, in Havre, Mont. He worked for Cenex, and delivered propane to all of the farmers around the Hi-Line. He then went to work for the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd until he retired in 1995.

Chet enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening and puzzles. He was a member of the Moose and the Hunters Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife Nancy.

Chet is survived by his wife, Cathy Moore of Havre, Mont. ; his children: daughters, Valerie Gossard of Woodland, Calif., Karmen Mollerstrom of Billings, Mont., and Karen McWaters of Phoenix, Ariz. ; one sister, Charlotte Miller of Knoxville, Tenn. ; one brother, Leon Moore of Carmella, Calif. ; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
