HELENA — House Republicans founds the votes they needed today and gave preliminary approval to a resolution declaring the federal health care law null and void. However, a more sweeping nullification measure failed.
House Joint Resolution 20, sponsored by Rep. Derek Skees, R-Kalispell, won debate-stage approval by a vote of 53-45.
Skees said his resolution would help Montana's lone congressman, U.S. Rep. Denny Rehberg, fight the federal law in Washington D.C.
But Democrats disagreed.
