Vera Mae Leens

Vera Mae Leens of Mesa, Ariz., passed away Nov. 11, 2010, at the age of 90 as a result of congestive heart failure.

Memorial services, a celebration of life, will be held Friday, May 27, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Church, officiated by Father Dale Yurkovic, followed by the burial of ashes next to her late husband Emil Leens. A

fellowship luncheon will then be held at the Eagles Club in Havre.

Vera had lived the majority of her life in Havre, and since 1975 had made her residence in Mesa, Ariz.

Born on July 4, 1920, Vera was one of seven siblings. She is survived by one sister, Mary Jane Powell of Salt Lake City, Utah. Her husband, Emil Leens passed away in 1976. She is survived by three children: Larry (Rose) Leens of Mantua, N.J., and Allan (Susan) Leens and Linda Strong of Havre, Mont.

Vera also had seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials are to be made to St. Jude Thaddeus school or church, or to a place of one's choice.
