House committee passes mandatory DUI testing

Montana Attorney General Steve Bullock's office said this morning that the 20-member House Judiciary Committtee, including Reps. Wendy Warburton, R-Havre, and Kris Hansen, R-Havre, unanimously passed a bill implementing a statewide 24/7 sobriety project.
The bill would allow sheriff's offices to implement a program in which people convicted of a second or subsequent charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants could be ordered by a judge to take a sobriety test twice a day and to pay the fees themselves to administer the tests....
