Hi-Line Girls Basketball Roundup

Another week of high school basketball. Another week of exciting girls games on the Hi-Line is in the books.

The Box Elder Bears have been one of the best teams in the area this season, and they showed that again on Thursday night with a dramatic one-point win over the Chinook Sugarbeeters in Chinook. The Bears defeated the Beeters 49-48 in a game that went down to the wire. The game was a game of runs. The Beeters ripped of an 18-6 second-quarter run to lead 22-17 at the half. But the Bears stormed back with a 14-6 run in the third quarter, which set up and exciting finish to the District 9C clash.

Aricka Wolf Chief scored 25 points for the Bears, while Makhayla Farmer had 19 points for the Beeters.

Friday night another classic 9C game as North Star upset first-place Big Sandy 59-55 in Rudyard. Neither team had bigger than a five-point lead throughout and the game was tied 27-27 at halftime. But the Knights outscored the Pioneers 16-12 in the final eight minutes to secure the win.

Shelby Lipp scored 16 points and Jordan Spicher chipped in with 15 points for the Knight. In the loss, the Pioneers got 20 points from Mackenzie Jenkins and another 19 points from freshman Molly Herron.

Jacinda Fuller led the Wildcats with a game-high 20 points, while Maurvella Fuller added 14 points and Hyapatia Getten chipped in with 12.

Against the Knights, the Bears broke open a tie game in the third quarter with a 21-7 run, and in the final 16 minutes, Box Elder held North Star to just 16 points.
