Rocky Boy special election set for Aug. 18

The recent slew of tribal elections continues on Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation with a special election scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 18.

That election has been set up to replace the seat vacated by Bruce Sunchild Sr. after he was elected as the new chair of the Chippewa Cree Business Committee.

Who ever wins fill finish out Sunchild's term, which is scheduled to be up for election again in 2012.

Filing to run in the August special election is currently open and will be until 4:30 p. m. Friday.

Potential candidates have to file at the tribal office, with the election office.
