Skylights head to Billings for four matches

It's week two for the Montana State University-Northern volleyball team. And the Skylights will use this weekend's four matches to continue their progression as the Frontier Conference season draws closer.

Northern is in Billings for the Rocky Mountain College/Montana Tech Tournament, and four tough nonconference matches are on the slate. The Skylights play Walla Walla University and Davenport University of Michigan today, then take on Dickinson State and Dakota Wesleyn on Saturday.

MSU-N comes into Billings with a 2-2 overall record. Included in last weekend's win was a three-game sweep of DSU, but Northern's other three opponents this weekend are somewhat unknown. Still, Skylight head coach Bill Huebsch is looking for improvement in all areas right now, no matter who lines up across the net from his team.

"Overall I was really pleased with those first four matches," Huebsch said after the UGF tourney. "Now we have to go to Billings and make sure we play better. That's our goal right now, to build consistency and continuity. We want to make sure we're better than our last match every time we play."

The Skylights face Walla Walla today at 2 and Davenport at 6. On Saturday, MSU-N takes on the Blue Hawks at 9 a.m. and Dakota Wesleyn at 1 p.m. Northern is on the road again next week at the Dakota Wesleyn Tournament in Mitchell, S.D.
