Havre JV's win in five

By Blaine Grisak

The Havre Blue Pony junior varsity volleyball team played a thriller against the Choteau JV's Saturday morning at the HHS gymnasium. And the Blue Ponies got the win in five sets.

Jacinta Finneman and Aubrea Worm played great in the thrilling match. Finneman played very well defensively, leading the team with two key blocks. Worm on the other hand was exceptional putting points away with three kills and two aces.

The Ponies started off strong in the first set, but Choteau fought back and came close. The Ponies finally finished the first set with a couple of dramatic points and strong efforts winning it 28-26. Choteau answered back in another close set winning 25-22. The Ponies didn't quit even though they had just lost the previous set. The Ponies dominated the third set 25-6. The Ponies now had a shot to finish the match, but Choteau would not go down without a fight. Choteau won the fourth set 25-9. Now both teams would go to a sudden death very dramatic fifth set. Both teams gave everything they had and gave the crowd quite a show. The Ponies came up on top on the majority of the long points and got a nice victory winning the 5th and final set 15-5.
