Ford Johnson

On Dec. 1, 2011, our dear brother and uncle, Ford Henry Johnson, 81, passed away at Northern Montana Hospital due to natural causes. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Services and cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.

Ford was born on Aug. 25, 1930, in Cottonwood, Mont. He was the eighth of eight children of Henry and Bernice Johnson. He attended Cottonwood school.

Ford and his brother Ellis worked the family farm north of Havre until they moved to Havre in their later years.

Ford was well known in the Havre community. He spent many years of unselfish, dedicated work serving others at the Northside Community Giveaway House, where food and clothing were given to those in need. He, along with his brother, Ellis, and his sister, Ann Friesen, worked tirelessly delivering food baskets, toys and gifts for children and the elderly at Christmas. He volunteered for the annual Thanksgiving community dinners for many years. He had a kind and loving spirit and will be missed very much by those who knew and loved him.

Ford was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Gerald Johnson, James (Bob) Johnson and Hulas Johnson; and his sisters Twila Copeland, Helen Wilkins and Ann Friesen.

Ford is survived by his brother, Ellis Johnson of Havre; sister-in-law Verna Johnson of Havre; and many nieces and nephews.
