HDN Athlete Profile: Ceddy Pogue

Chester/J-I's Ceddy Pogue, who is headed to Montana State University-Northern to play football, is wrapped up by a Belt player during the 2009 Class C football season. Pogue is a former Northern C All-Conference standout.

Chester/J-I's Ceddy Pogue was a key component to the Hawks Northern C football program, and lining up on both offense and defense at 6-3, and 200 pounds, his presence was always known.

Pogue played for the Hawks for just his junior and senior seasons after transferring in from Billings west. But as a senior, he was able to grab Northern C All-Conference honors as a running back. Pogue also made his mark as a slot receiver and a linebacker and a standout basketball player at C/J-I.

Pogue is an all around athlete. He also ran track his junior year and did his part on the basketball court. But it is what he was able to do on the gridiron that is bringing Pogue to Montana State University-Northern as one of next season's recruits. While at MSU-N Pogue will line up on the offensive side of the ball as a receiver.

Here's five questions as Pogue gets ready to embark on his college football journey for the Lights

HDN: What moment or game will you always remember from your high school football career?

Pogue: "Probably when we beat Simms this season. We were able to overcome them beating us last year and just able to show everybody how much we improved."

HDN: What are you hoping to accomplish as a college football player?

Pogue: "I just want to help my team get better any way I can and have good career."

HDN: What first appealed to you about continuing your career at MSU-Northern?

Pogue: "I was kind of looking around at all of the NAIA schools, but I know a lot of the players that are already playing there and I liked that it is still close to home."

HDN: What do you think is going to be the biggest difference when going from Class C football to college football in the Frontier Conference?

Pogue: "Definitely the game speed. I think I will be able to adapt to it well, but like everything, I think it is going to take some time and work."

HDN: What can you contribute to the Northern team?

Pogue: "I just want to try and be the best option on offense for the team and to always be an offensive threat."
