The Montana State University-Northern wrestling team is in the win column.
Thursday night in Rock Springs, Wyo., the Lights beat a tough Western Wyoming squad, 28-19 in a dual meet.
Former Havre High state champion Duell Stadel got MSU-N started with a 17-8 major decision win at 125 pounds, while Mickey Cheff also won by major decision at 157 pounds. The Lights also got an 11-1 major decision by Kody Reed at 184 pounds and a 14-0 major decision win by red-shirt freshman Toby Cheff at 197 pounds.
Northern gave up a forfeit at 133 pounds, while Cameron Neiss earned a forfeit win at 141 and Ethan Hinebauch earned a forfeit win at 165.
Hunter Azure lost at 149 pounds, Max Payne fell at 174 in a wild 24-20 decision and freshman Tucker Erickson was pinned at heavyweight for the remaining Western Wyoming points. Neiss and Hinebauch won exhibition matches as well.
The Lights will remain in Wyoming for the Cowboy Invitational Saturday afternoon in Laramie.
