For the second straight week, the Montana State University-Northern Lights scored big in a win. And for the second straight week, the Lights are earning Frontier Conference honors. But this week, it's two players instead of one.

MSU-Northern senior running back Stephen Silva earned Frontier Offensive Player of the Week honors, and freshman defensive back/kicke

Montana State University-Northern's Stephen Silva runs for yardage during a Frontier Conference football game against Rocky Mountain College Saturday at Blue Pony Stadium. Silva earned Frontier Conference Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 230 yards and two touchdowns against the Battlin' Bears.

r/punter Trevor Baum was named the Frontier Special Teams Player of the Week.

In Northern's 42-19 victory over Rocky Mountain College, Silva rushed for 230 yards on 19 carries. He set school records for most rushing yards in a game, longest run from scrimmage (91 yards) and for most 100-yards games in a career. Silva scored twice, on runs of 91 and 57 yards. He came into the 2012 season already as Northern's all-time leading rusher.

Baum, a redshirt from Susanville, Calif., had four punts for 179 yards including one for 49 yards. He had 245 yards of kick off yards including a 60-yarder. He was a perfect for six for six in extra point kicks, and picked up 12 yards on a fake punt.

Northern has won two straight and now has a bye week before hosting Southern Oregon on Oct. 13 at Blue Pony Stadium. The Lights are 2-3 overall and 2-3 in the Frontier Conference.

Montana Tech's Ketwaun Frank was named the Frontier Defensive Player of the week after he recorded 12 tackles and an INT in Tech's win over Southern Oregon last Saturday.

Speaking of the Orediggers, they moved up three spots to No. 14 in the most recent NAIA Coaches Poll. Tech is now 4-1 on the season after its double-overtime win last weekend. Carroll College remained at No. 8 in this week's poll, while Eastern Oregon tumbled from No. 14 to No. 24 after losing its second straight game. Tech plays at Dickinson State this Saturday while Eastern and Southern Oregon meet in a rivalry game.
