What we saw this weekend

This is the third edition of my new column, which chronicles extra tidbits from the weekend's local sports coverage, but, since I took the weekend off, the title really doesn't fit since I didn't actually see anything.
What I did see was, personally the lowest of lows and the highest of highs in a 24-hour span.
