Havre 's Aageson to compete in national Hershey track meet

There are just five youngsters from Montana competing in this weekend's Hershey's Track and Field Games North American Final in Hershey, PA. And one of them is from right here in Havre.

For the second straight year, Havre's Ivar Aageson will be making the trip to Hershey to compete in the national track meet. Aageson, age 12 also made the trek to Hershey last summer. Aageson, who will be a seventh-grader at Havre Middle School this fall, will compete in the softball throw in his age category. He captured the state Hershey softball throw championship back in June in Colstrip.

Aageson also competed and place in the 100 meters, the 400 meters and the 400-meter relay at the state meet, earning ribbons is every single event.

Aageson is a 4.0 student at HMS, and is active in baseball, football and basketball, as well as being an avid snowboard enthusiast. His older brother Gunnar, runs track and competes in football and wrestling at Havre High.

The Hershey National Track Meet will take place on Saturday at Henry Hershey Field on the campus of Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA.
