Deadlines to register for Festival Days events creeping up

With a plethora of events set to run during the 32nd annual celebration of Havre Festival Days Sept. 14-16, deadlines to register for many events are coming up just around the corner.

One deadline is this weekend — the Hi-Line Quilt Guild will be holding its registration for the annual Festival of Quilts Saturday.

The show, which will be held at the east end of the Holiday Village Mall, will run Sept. 14-16 and includes the chance for viewers to vote on the best quilts as well as to participate in a quilt raffle that will benefit the Feed My Sheep Soup Kitchen and in a mini-raffle.

The registration will be Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. at the location of the show itself, at the east end of the mall. People must bring their registration forms with their quilts.

The forms are available at Bearly Square Quilt Shop, Prairie Quilts, or by emailing Terri Earl at [email protected].

Quilts can be registered before Saturday at Bearly Square Quilt Shop.

One event already had its registration closed — the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce has announced that the craft show that will be held at the Great Northern Fairground is full.

Chamber Executive Director Debbie Vandeberg said another deadline is Friday, although late entries could be added. The Chamber wants people to sign up for the Saturday, Sept. 15, parade by Friday to see the number of entries the parade committee will be working with, she said, although entries will be accepted through next week.

Another deadline is coming up Wednesday. People participating in the Fun Run and Walk Sunday, Sept. 16, must register by Wednesday in order to receive a T-shirt at the run. Late entries will not receive a shirt.

And a new event with limited entries also has a deadline next week.

The Hill County Community Foundation is sponsoring a special, locally written play, with limited seating at each of two performances.

North Central Montana Transit will provide transportation from the Palace Bar to the two locations where the vignettes, based on historical figures in Havre's history and written by local dramatist Martin Holt, will be performed. The first round starting at the Palace at 6 p.m. and the second round starting there at 7:30 Saturday, Sept. 15.

Tickets will be sold, at $35 each or $60 for a couple, through Thursday, Sept. 13. People can call 265-2119 to purchase a ticket.

Some other events, including the Summer Sound Challenge, will hold registration during Festival Days before the event.
