Grayson Brenna - 98

Just a freshman, Brenna, 20-6 has already made huge contributions to the Ponies success this year. He is the Ponies' first 98-pounder in several years, and has moved into the position very nicely. Brenna will face Bryce Noctror of Butte Central in the first round Friday.

Dylan Stewart - 105

Stewart is another talented freshman for the Ponies. He holds the No. 1 ranking in the state and is 20-8 on the season. He has some talented company, including Josh Venema (COR) and Zach Wall (CEN) who all placed at 98 pounds last season. Stewart will face off against Chance Snellman (DIL) in the first round.

Nate Kennelly - 112

Nate Kennelly has beein in and out of the lineup with injuries and went just 8-8 on the season. But a Central A title last weekend shored things up.

Kennelly will open the tournament with a match against Thomas Moore (ANA).

Gilbert Bara - 119

Bara has been in and out of the lineup as well this season, first with ineligibility issues, then with injury. His varsity record is just 2-1 this year, but he is hoping to bounce back after a divisional title this year, and a No. 4 finish at state last year at 112-pounds.

Bara has a first round bye, but will most likely run into Karson Kukes (LAU) in the second round, the No. 2 ranked wrester in the state.

Dustin Seely - 125

At 125 pounds, Seely has a tough road ahead of him. He is 12-12 on the season and is hoping to place this year as a senior.

Seely has a good shot at coming out of the first round against Kevin Fogel (COR), but would then likely run into No. 4 Craig Feistner (POL) in the second round. Overall, it will be an uphill battle with wrestlers like No. 1 Bryce Weatherston (BEL) in the mix. Weatherston was the second place winner at 119 pounds last season.

Thomas Gruber – 130

Wrestling his best late in the season, Gruber is poised to have solid state run in his sophomore year. Holding a record of 34-10, Gruber isn't in the top rankings, but is wrestling as good as anybody on the Pony roster according to coach Filius.

Roy Schutter (FTN) is Gruber's opening opponent and give Gruber a solid shot of getting out of the first round with a win. But if that happens, Gruber will run into one of the many ranked wrestlers in his bracket. With a win, Gruber will face either Austin Cannon (LAU) or Caleb Caicedo (COR), the No. 4 and No. 5 wrestlers, respectively.

Gunnar Aageson - 130

Freshman Gunnar Aageson will also try his hand at 130 pounds this weekend, and has shown flashes of brilliance this season. He is young and inexperienced, but makes up for that with his high tempo style.

But managing just a 5-10 varsity record this season, Aageson won't get any help from the competition out of the gate. Aaggeson faces No. 2 Mitch Haugen (LIB) in the first round.

Matt Emge - 135

Sitting at 10-12 this season, Emge has heid his share of wins and losses. But unfortunately for him, things will be just as tough at the state tournament. Emge will open up the first round against Cody Ishler (FTN), the No. 1 ranked 135-pounder in the state.

But 135-pounds is as tough as ever this year. Kolter Kukes (LAU) was a state champion at 125 pounds last season but is just the No. 3 ranked wreslter behind a very tough Lane Lantis (GLE). Lantis will most likely be waiting for Emge in round two if he manages to escape round one with a win this weekend.

Dillon Seely - 140

Seely was surprise not winning the division this season, but still brings a solid 28-12 record into state this year.

Seely placed fifth at 135 pounds last year, but is looking to improve on that mark this year as a senior. In the first round, Seely will face Garret Chapel (LIB), also unranked, but a worthy opponent. Travis Davis (COR) won a state title at 135 pounds last year, but will also be in the 140-pound mix this weekend.

Jordan Schroeder - 145

With a record of 24-13, Jordan Schroeder has been a real nice addition to the Blue Pony roster this season. But even with teammate Eli Hinebauch out of the mix this year Schroeder's bracket won't be any easier.

Kyle Leir (LIB) took the title at 140 pounds last year, but now sits in the 145-pound bracket as the No. 1 ranked grappler. And with guys like No. 2 Jim Malone (LEW) also in the field, there is a ranked opponent almost everywhere Schroeder will land. Schroeder opens with unranked Kohl Thompson (CFS), giving him a nice opportunity to help the Ponies with a first round win.

Eli Hinebauch – 15

Hinebauch has been the most productive and consistent Blue Pony this season, housing a flawless 35-0 record while gunning for his second straight state title. A year ago he grabbed his first at 145 pounds.

This year Hinebauch is ranked No. 1, ahead of No. 2 Tommy Cooper (LAU) and No. 3 Mike Devlin (POL). Hinebauch should manhandle Jared young (POL) in the first round, and should almost undoubtedly win the title this year. That is unfortunate for teammate Jayson Kohler who is also in the bracket.

Jayson Kohler -152

Kohler has been a spark in the Ponies' lineup this season, especially as of late. He has gotten better as the season progressed, and emerged from the junior varsity to claim a 15-10 varsity record en route to his first state tournament trip.

Kohler is unranked, but has a tough task ahead of him in the first round. He drew the unlucky straw, having to face Mike Devlin (POL), the No. 3 wrestler in the state in the first round. Last year Devlin took fourth at 152 pounds, and will definitely be hungry to improve. But with how Kohler has been wrestling the last couple of weeks, don't count him out just yet.

Kameron Pribyl - 160

Another seasoned senior, Pribyl has only dropped three matches this season, entering the state tournament 33-3.

Pribyl is also the No. 1 ranked grappler, and is ready to open this weekend against unranked Derek LoPorto (GLE). But the competition will get extremely tough the longer Pribyl lasts, with kids like No. 2 Riley Nagel (COR) the runner up at 145 pounds a year ago. No. 3 Dilan Starkel (DIL) will also look to push for a title this year, giving Pribyl quite a few worthy opponents to watch out for.

Grant Pattison – 171

Last season Pattison had a decent year, but this time around he looks to be serious about placing at the state level. This season Pattison enters the tournament as the No. 2 wrestler in the state, dominating most of his competition with a 33-8 record.

Dylan Kramer (LAU) is the No.1 171-pounder, and took second last year at 160 pounds. But as the season progressed, so did Pattison's skills. And if he continues to wrestle to his ability, there shouldn't be any surprise if he winds up in the No. 1 spot and not Kramer. Dayton Cogdill (CEN) will look to slow Pattison down in the first round, but Pattison is heavily favored.

Jace Billy - 171

Jace Billy has been in and out of the varsity lineup this year, but wreslted well when it counted, late in the season. He managed a 10-10 record this year, and fought his way into the state tournament.

Billy is in the same extremely tough bracket with teammate Pattison, and will have to be at the top of his game if he hopes to stay on the mat this weekend. Billy will open up the weekend agasint Dace Fisher (SID).

Casey Schaub – 189

At 39-5, Schaub has also been one of the Blue Pony leaders this season. Three of his losses have come to Chinook standout Ben Stroh, but other than that, Schaub has looked spectacular in his final season with the Ponies.

He has dominated every Class A wrester he has run up against this season, and has gained No. 1 attention for it. If he continues to wrestle well, the title is as good as his, a step up from last year's No. 2 finish at 171 pounds. Schaub is the heavy favorite, but No. 2 Ryan Gosselin (LAU) and No. 3 Forrest Fortney (FTN) will look to upset the Blue Pony senior.

Tyler Adams - 215

Adams is another talented sophomore for the Ponies. His 21-3 varsity record speaks for itself, but his sixth-place finish at state a year ago at 285 pounds shows he is a true contender.

Dropping down to 215 this year, Adams looks more comfortable on the mat. He has cruised through the season, and dominated the majority of his opponents despite a small stretch of injuries. Adams is also the No. 4 ranked wrestler this season, and will face Robert Twichel (CEN) in the opening round this weekend. Austin Boucher is the heavy favorite, but Adams could surprise some people if he has a good weekend.

Dustin Odegard – 215

Odegard has come on strong late in this season, but has also shows great potential all season long. He has been placed in the top of the state with a No. 6 ranking this season, and could also push teammate Adams for a solid finish.

But Odegard has been in and out of the varsity lineup this season, and houses a 10-12 varsity record. He opens up with No. 2 Trevor Howe, so if he is going to make a run at a title this year, he is going to have to start out with a bang.

Kolton Lodge – HWT

Just a freshman Havre's Grayson Brenna (top) is a state title contender at 98 pounds.

Lodge is another HHS wrestler who has been in and out of the varsity lineup. He has spent most of his time at the varsity level, and does bring in an 18-13 record, but the title chase isn't going to be easy.

Allen Neulib (SID) is the top prospect this year and will definitely look to claim a title after finishing second last season. But Josiah Clairmont (POL) will also be considered tough to beat after finishing third a year ago. Lodge will face Hunter Herbaugh (GLE) in the first round, so there is definitely room for advancement, but just as everybody else, Lodge will have to be ready to wrestle well right out of the gate.
