Francine Lorraine LaPlant Standing Rock

BROWNING — Francine Lorraine LaPlant Standing Rock, 56, passed away at Northern Montana Hospital from injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Francine was born Feb. 23, 1956, to Mary Lorraine Devereaux and Francis LaPlant Jr. in Arizona. She was always re-educating herself in her nursing degree and was always studying to get above and beyond. She attended various colleges and universities, most recently studying to be a trauma nurse, passing her tests with pride. Francine worked in Havre, Broadus, Glasgow and numerous places throughout the state during her nursing career.

Francine had many interests. She enjoyed cooking, making cakes and pies, beading and sewing, telling old stories and making food experiments. She also enjoyed traveling watching the Food Network and "Grey's Anatomy" and was fairly well known for her ability to Super Glue and staple everything.

She married Duncan Standing Rock Sr. in Rocky Boy in 1995, and he survives. Also surviving are her children, Irene (Dale) Marceau, Doranda "Annie" Standing Rock, Nicole Standing Rock and Allison Campbell; numerous brothers and sisters; grandchildren, Donovan Last Star, Loren Michael Heavy Runner, Dale Marceau Jr., David Marceau II, Talia Laron-Shaday Marceau and Tyler Marceau; many adopted children; and numerous stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with special acknowledgement to her friends, Irene Harrell and Cleo Main, all the Bullshoes, all the aunts, uncles, cousins and adopted friends and family. A wake is being held at Glacier Homes Community Center in Browning, with the rosary being recited at 7 p. m. Thursday in the center. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p. m. Friday, at Little Flower Parish in Browning, with burial following in the Willow Creek Cemetery.
