Breaking Sports: Skylights clip Tech, Lights fall again

The Montana State University-Northern womens basketball team exacted a measure of revenge Saturday night in Butte. Less than a month after Montana Tech stunned Northern by one point, the Skylights returned the favor by beating the Orediggers 42-41. The win put Northern at 5-5 in the Frontier Conference and 18-6 overall heading into next weekend's home finales against Rocky Mountain College on Friday night and Carroll on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the MSU-Northern men's team suffered another puzzling defeat, this time at the hands of Montana, 63-55. The loss was Northern's third straight and will likely cost MSU-N a spot in the Top 25. Northern went into the weekend ranked No. 13 but was swept by Western and Tech. The Lights fell to just 6-4 in league play and a full two games behind the Bulldogs. Northern is 20-6 overall.
