Ben Stroh claiming his fourth consecutive individual state wrestling championship was an inevitablity Saturday night at the Rimrock Auto Arena in Billings. But his Sugarbeeters winning their fourth straight Class C title at the 2012 Class B-C state tournament was anything but. However, thanks to state championships from Stroh (189) and Jorell Jones (215) and a huge second-place finish by Robbie Klingaman at 189, Chinook overtook Cascade-Simms, scoring 98.5 points to garner the top Class C honors.
Stroh became the 20th Montanan to win four consecutive state championships, but by the end of the night, that number grew to 23.
The Beeters also finished an outstanding fourth overall in the B-C meet, which was won by Forsyth for a second straight year.

pin. It also capped off a third straight perfect season, this year going 48-0. Stroh also won the quick-poin award for the secon straight time in Billings. Jones won his second straight 215-pound title, defeating Choteau's Owen DeBruckyer 6-0. Jones finished his senior season a perfect 45-0. The Beeters also got an outstanding fourth-place finish from Cord Anderson at 171 pounds.
Things didn't go as well for the Harlem Wildcats Saturday, who came into the state tournament with lofty expectations. Defending state champion Teague Jones was upset in Saturday's 105-pound semifinal, though Jones rebounded to finish third. Chris Schupe also lost in the 140-pound semis, but he rebounded to finish third as well. Harlem finished the tournament with 67 points, tying Malta for ninth place overall.
Chester/J-I wound up scoring 33 points, tying for 25th overall. The Hawks got fourth-place finishes from Leonard Pugsley at 145 and Shalon Norvick at heavyweight. Pugsley lost his first match in Saturday morning's semifinal round.
Big Sandy scored six total points and finished 34th, rounding out the Hi-Line team's at the B-C tourney.
