Donald Dewayne Freier, 58, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, from respiratory failure at a Lubbock, Texas, hospital.

Donald was born July 2, 1953 in Scobey, Mont., the fifth of 10 children born to Catherine (Beesley) and Emil Freier. Donald attended Havre High School, graduating in 1971. He was a punter on the championship football team his senior year.

He also played fast-pitch softball. After graduating high school, Donald enlisted in the Air Force. Upon his retirement from the Air Force, Donald earned a doctorate of theology. After his retirement, he settled in Texas where he lived until his death.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Emil; three brothers, Emil Jr., James and David; and a sister, Myrna.

Donald is survived by his son, Donald Jr. ; four grandchildren; two brothers; and three sisters, including Diane Petersen of Havre, Mont.
