Rustlers upset Ponies

January 13, 2012

In preparation for the Missoula Invite today and Saturday, the Havre High wrestling team first made a quick stop in Great Falls for a non conference dual with the CMR Rustlers.

Thursday the Ponies were in Great Falls, where they took on the Rustlers. And while the Central A Blue Ponies didn't wrestle their normal lineup, they still saw some much needed reps and a little bit of success. The Rustlers defeated the Ponies 43-36 in the dual.

The Ponies went into Great Falls just for the extra preparation. They narrowed their focus for Missoula to follow, and even bumped most f the lineup up a weight class. The Ponies were also without Casey Schaub for Thursday's action.

But despite the switching and shuffling of grapplers, the Ponies still kept things close.

Grayson Brenna, Dylan Stewart , Eli Hinebauch, Kameron Pribyl, Grant Pattison and Kolton Lodge all earned points for the Ponies.

Brenna (98) won by forfeit, as did Lodge (285). But Stewart (112), Hinebauch (160), Pribyl (171) and Pattison (189) all earned pins. Stewart pinned Riley Wavra in 5:56 and Hinebauch pinned Jake Marmon in just 55 seconds. Pribyl pinned Nathan McCracken in 3:47 and Pattison pinned Travis Brugman in 2:24.

HHS stays on the road for the next two days as they compete in the Rocky Mountain Classic in Missoula today and Saturday.
