Belcourt plans to call for recount in HD 32 primary

With the official vote in on a contested House race, the incumbent Democrat still is behind by three votes and said he plans to call for a recount if that stands.

Secretary of State Linda McCulloch confirmed this morning that her office received the final tallies of the Democratic primary in House District 32, with Rep. Tony Belcourt of Box Elder losing to challenger Clarena Brockie of Hays 368-371.

The Associated Press reports that Belcourt said Wednesday he would call for a recount, at his own expense, to make sure the votes were counted fairly and accurately.
