Hawks, Beeters earn Northern C honors

The football season has one more Saturday left in it. But already, the awards are pouring in.

The Northern C recently announced its All-Conference and Class C All-State lists, and Chester/J-I and Chinook dominated the voting.

The Hawks, who captured the Northern C title this year, had four players earn Class C All-State honors, while Chinook had three.

For the Hawks, Shalon Norick, Erik Kelly, Jordan Oraw and Mike Henke earned All-State honors. Norick is a First-team All-Conference offensive and defensive lineman, while Kelly earned First-Team honors at running back and outside linebacker. Oraw earned First Team at fullback and inside linebacker, while Henke earned First-Team honors at defensive end.

The Sugarbeeters saw Zach Molyneaux, Grant Tilleman and Rob Kilngaman named All-State.

Molyneaux was a two-way standout for the Beeters, earning First Team at running back and linebacker, while Klingaman was a First Team fullback and linebacker. Tilleman was honored as First Team offensive and defensive lines.

Overall, the Hawks had 10 different players touted as Northern C All-Conference, while Chinook had six.

Henke also earned Second-Team honors at wide receiver for the Hawks, while Thaine Wolery was Second Team on the offensive line. Dustin Romain was named Honorable Mention at quarterback, while Casey Kinyon earned Honorable Mention on the offensive line, Tim Stokes was Honorable Mention at safety and Cody Ramberg was Honorable Mention at linebacker.

For Chinook, Geoff Qualls earned First-Team All-Conference honors at safety, while Dylan Surber was tabbed Honorable Mention at wide receiver and Gage Haugen was named Honorable Mention at defensive end.

C/J-I's Jim Vinson was named the Northern C Coach of the Year after guiding the Hawks to a perfect 9-0 record in the regular season and a Northern C championship.
