From the very beginning of the 2012 girls basketball season, the Havre High girls basketball team looked to have all the components in line for another successful season. And after claiming the regular season conference title, the Central A divisional tournament title, as well as a earning a trip to the Class A state tournament, it is hard to argue that the Blue Ponies didn't.

And though the season has come and gone, a handful of Blue Ponies are still being rewarded for their efforts.

After a trip to state, HHS finished the season with an overall record of 11-9, as well as finished the regular season with a conference record of 7-1. The Ponies had their share of ups and downs, just as many teams do, but they overcame their youth and inexperience and proved to be one of the best teams in the state. The Ponies really showed they had talent this year, when they put together a five game winning streak, with key wins over teams such as Browning and Conrad.

It was an entire team effort, but Peyton Filius, Brandy Lambourne, Chanal Standing Rock and Sammy Evans truly shined this season.

Filius averaged nearly nine points per game and led the team with 37 assitst and was named Central A First Team All-Confernce, as was Lambourne, who averaged over seven points per game, and led the Ponies with 48 steals. Standing Rock and Evans were both named All-Conference honorable mention. Standing Rock led the Ponies with 42 percent from behind the three-point arc, as well as averaged nearly 10 points per game and four rebounds per game. Evans averaged nearly six points per game, but also led the Ponies with more than four rebounds per game.

Havre High head coach Dustin Kraske was also honored, as he was named Co-Coach of the year. Billie Jo Juneau of Browning also earned the prestigious honor in the Central A.

Other Central A winners included McCalle Feller (Lewistown), Marti EagleFeathers (Browning) and Dylan Fowler (Belgrade) who were named Class A All-State as well as 1st Team All-Conference. Jordan Weatherwax (Browning), Justine Taylor (Belgrade), Claire Meyer (Livingston), Daniell Madden (Browning) and Amanda Stenseth (Lewistown) were all named 2nd Team All-Conference. And Annie Prickett (Belgrade) Emily Fochs (Livingston) and Krystene DesRosier (Browning) were all named honorable mention.
