Ellen Marie Nugent

Ellen Marie Nugent, 53, formerly of Havre, passed away unexpectedly on May 28, 2012, in Shanghai, China, from a heart attack.

Ellen was born on May 13, 1959, in Anaconda, Mont. She graduated from Havre High School in 1977, and attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Mont. Following her college graduation in 1981, Ellen spent the summer backpacking through Europe, starting her love of travel. Ellen then began her career as a teacher, working in Wyoming and New Mexico, which later led to her working with the American International Schools. She obtained her master's in library sciences from the University of Montana in 1990. Combining her love of reading with her love for travel, she worked in South America, Turkey, and, most recently, in China, and continued her travels to many other places.

Ms. Nugent was preceded in death by her father, Hugh Nugent. She is survived by her mother, Hazel Nugent of Havre; her brother, Paul (Jody) Nugent of Havre; her sister, Laura Nugent of Billings; as well as numerous friends and extended family.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at 2 p. m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at the Havre Senior Center.

Memorials may be made to the Hill County Public Library or the charity of the donor's choice. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
