9-1. And on Wednesday, when action continued, Wells Fargo defeated Optimist 15-5 in loser out action, while Northern Montana Hospital defeated Chinook 10-9 in the championship bracket.

The win by Wells Fargo came in dominating fashion, earning the victory in five innings.

Wells Fargo actually trailed 2-1 after the first inning, but remained consistent, scoring two runs in the second, three in the third, two in the fourth and three in the fifth. Optimist only put up two more runs in the third and one in the fifth. And while Wells Fargo produced a lot of their runs through a large amount of Optimist errors, Dane Abrila and Nick Keller both had standout nights at the plate for Wells Fargo. Both Abrila and Keller finished the game 3-for-5, while Abrila also got the win on the mound.

In the nightcap, NMH used two big innings and one late run to earn the win over a very consistent Chinook squad.

Chinook hung one run in each of the first, second and third innings, two in the fourth and three more runs in the fifth. But NMH stayed competitive by posting five runs in the second, four runs in the fourth and the game winner in the top of the seventh. The game winning run to break the 9-9 tie was driven in by TC Flesche, but it was Parker Filius who highlighted NMH by going 4-for-4 at the plate, including a three RBI triple in the second inning.

Jeff Miller recorded the win for NMH, pitching all seven innings. His defense was as strong as his arm, as his fast reflexes kick started the 1-6-3 double play to end the game.

Babe Ruth action will continue today at Legion Field at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Chinook will face Wells Fargo at 5:30 in loser out action, while NMH will await the winner of Chinook/Wells Fargo at 7:30 p.m. for the title game.
