George Francis Harris

George Francis Harris, 70, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes. A prayer service will be held 2 p. m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Sunrise Alano Club, 2110 Highway 2 East in Havre.

His burial will be at Fort Harrison Veteran's Cemetery in Helena. Arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

George was born Jan. 24, 1942, in Upper Darby, Pa., to Edward Patrick and Rita (Gilkin) Harris. He entered into the United States Marine Corps and served in the Bay of Pigs. He was honorably discharged in September 1962. George was a traveler who loved Montana.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Catherine Schellinger and Patricia Cowan; and one brother, Edward Harris Jr.

George is survived by three brothers, Joseph Harris, William C. Harris and John Harris and his sister, Rita Chester, all of New Jersey. And his good friend Jerry Woods of Havre.
