Victor Denny, 78, passed away May 23, 2012 at his Great Falls residence of natural causes.

Mr. Denny was born March 26, 1934, to Sam and Swinging Girl (Sandy) Denny in Rocky Boy, Mont. Following his school years, he married Verna Baptiste in Cando, Saskatchewan, and their union was blessed with eight children. Over the years, Victor lived in Rocky Boy, Butte, Ronan and Great Falls, Mont. He worked for the railroad all over Montana and for the coal mines in Anaconda and Butte. He also worked for the forest service for 20 years and enjoyed crafting stick game sets, playing stick game, rock picking, studying rocks and minerals and Native American arts and crafts. Mr. Denny was a member of the Native American Church.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Janet Stump and Mamie Denny; and his brothers, Louie and Richard Denny.

He is survived by his wife, Verna of Great Falls; his sons, Alvin Baptiste (Elaine) of North Battleford, Saskatchewan, and Ernest Denny (Billie Dee) of Great Falls; his daughters, Valerie Denny of Rocky Boy, Debbie Denny of Billings, Christine Denny (Tony Brown) of Red Pheasant, Saskatchewan, Tara Topsky (Wabusk Ragged Robe) of Bozeman, Satin Denny (Joe Ferguson) of Great Falls, and Della Baptiste of Red Pheasant, Saskatchewan; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; his sister, Helen Bacon of Great Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wake services will be held at Rocky Boy Lutheran Church beginning Wednesday night until Friday morning. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012, at Rocky Boy Lutheran Church with Douglas Standing Rock officiating. Interment will be in Rocky Boy Cemetery. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
