Local Golf Report: Weather keeps shining on local golfers

The weather just keeps holding up for the early portion of the golf season. Though spring rains keep coming through Havre, there has been plenty of sunshine and less wind than normal this first part of the season.

There's also been no talk of spring flooding which is another good thing for golf courses all over the state of Montana.

Men's league continues at both Prairie Farms Golf Course and Beaver Creek Golf Course.

Last Tuesday saw Bing-N-Bob's earn high-team honors with 24 points at Prairie Farms. Low gross was shared by Jeff Jensen and Matt Hedstrom after each fired one-over par 37's. Low net was grabbed by Cody Masfeldt with a 25.

Last Wednesday night at Prairie Farms saw Comfortable earn high-team honors with 22.5 points. Jim Kato shot a scorching 4-under par 32 to earn low gross, while Scott Leeds took home low net with a 28.5.

Prairie Farms Golf Course will host the 8th annual Havre Women Fighting Breast Cancer Tournament. The tourney will be held June 30 at Prairie and will be a 3-woman, nine-hole scramble. Registration deadline is June 15 and entry forms are available at the Prairie Farms Pro Shop or by calling 262-4362. Any donations to the tourney are also welcome.
