Leon Gardipee

On Aug. 30, 2012, a beautiful soul, Leon Gardipee, passed away after a long and brave fight with cancer. He was 59 years old. An example to all of us, Leon never gave in and he lived every day thankfully, with great love and a quiet strength that was an inspiration to those who knew him. His humor and spirit will be remembered by all.

Husband to Sarah; son-in-law to Barbara, father and grandfather to Jason and Kris; brother, uncle, friend and all around "cool dude, " Leon will be deeply missed by so many.

Leon was the son of George and Grace Gardipee. A member of the Chippewa-Cree Tribe, and great-grandson of Cree Chief Little Bear he took great pride in his Native American heritage.

Memorial services will be held to celebrate Leon's life 11 a. m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at Dahl Funeral Chapel, with a luncheon to follow.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at http://www.dahlfuneralchapel.com.
