20-year-old killed in Rocky Boy crash over weekend

A young man driving on Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation died in an automobile crash on Saturday afternoon.

Ryle Myers, a 20-year-old Box Elder man, was driving west on Mission Taylor Road on Saturday afternoon, according to a Montana Highway Patrol crash report.

Around 2:52 p. m., Myers "failed to negotiate a right hand curve, " fell into the ditch, where the vehicle flipped one-and-a-quarter times.

Myers, step-son of Chippewa Cree Tribe's Business Committee member Chance Houle, was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown out of the vehicle.

He was dead when officers arrived.

The report states that both speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, while the sun was out and the road was dry.

The family had wake services over the weekend. The burial was scheduled for today in Great Falls.
