She was born Jan. 3, 1937, in Colorado Springs, Colo.

She worked as a professional nurse for 25 years in multiple disciplines. Her employment as a community health nurse for the U. S. Navy and Marine Corps Society at Naval Hospital Long Beach was her most rewarding. In 1990, she decided to engage in a new line of employment and went to work for the Department of State in Washington, D.C., for 10 enjoyable years.

As the wife of a naval officer, she usually thought of life experiences in terms of the places she lived, people she met and the events of the time. Her husband's tours of duties took them to Honolulu, Hawaii, Pt. Mugu, Calif., Lemoore, Calif., Vienna, Va., Newport, R.I., Virginia Beach, Va., Montgomery, Ala., Arco, Idaho, Norfolk, Va., Pensacola, Fla., China Lake, Calif. Her travels abroad, often to visit her husband when he was in port, include Asia, the Mediterranean and Western Europe.

She graduated from Havre High, Havre, Mont., in 1955. She later attended Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Spokane, Wash., and in 1966 she acquired her Registered Nursing Degree from Ventura College School of Nursing.

She enjoyed a myriad of hobbies to include coin and stamp collecting, antiques, quilting, arts and literature.

She was a member of PEO, Blind Bats Quilters Group, Missoula Art Museum, Montana Military Officers Association (MMOA), Navy and Marine Corp Volunteer, and the Navy League.

She was a well-respected member of the community and considered Montana the last best place on earth.
