Annual Rudyard ingathering slates special events

The Ingathering and All-School Reunion at Rudyard this year has some special events tying dinosaurs and an up-and-coming Christian singer and songwriter to the annual events.

One of the main attractions over the weekend will be a concert by Holly Starr, a rising name in the Christian music industry who released her second album, "Tapestry, " in 2011.

Starr, a native of Quincy, Wash., who was discovered when her church's youth band put some songs on MySpace, plans to release her third album, "Focus, " in October.

Calvary Evangelical Church is sponsoring the concert, starting at 6:30 p. m. Saturday in the North Star High School gymnasium.

Starr also will lead in a worship service at Calvary Evangelical Church Sunday at 11 a. m.

Another attraction Saturday will be a tour of a dinosaur dig, sponsored by Bozeman's Museum of the Rockies.

Weather permitting, tours are 8 a. m. to 4 p. m. for $5 a person 5 and older.

People can sign up at the Depot Museum at Main Street and 4th Avenue Northeast, and lunch will be available at the museum from 11 a. m. to 1 p. m., served by the Northern Lights 4-H Club.

The Depot Museum will hold an open house from 8 a. m. to 4 p. m. Saturday.

The Sodbuster Softball Tourney will be going on all day Saturday, and bouncy toys and games for children be available at North Star High School from 3:30 to 5:30 p. m.

Supper, served by North Star Heritage Trip participants, will be available at the North Star cafeteria from 4 to 6 p. m. Saturday.
