Gasoline spill at Rocky Boy stabilized, cleanup continues
A gasoline spill has been contained at Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation, with a U. S. Environmental Protection Agency representative saying this morning that work to replace some contaminated soil in hard-to-reach areas will continue this week, and that no serious dangers to local residents are apparent.
"We did some air monitoring, wandered around and found nothing of concern to anybody living in the area, " said Martin McComb, on-scene coordinator from the regional EPA office in Denver. "And we have no indication that the water quality has been impacted by the spill. "
