Montana Cannabis ordered to forfeit $1.7M

HELENA (AP) — A jury has ordered a defunct Montana medical marijuana business to forfeit $1.7 million now that all four of the business' partners have been convicted of federal drug crimes.

The Independent Record reports (http://bit.ly/RqsYFi ) the jury's action Friday wrapped up the weeklong trial of Christopher Williams.

Williams was found guilty of eight drug and firearms charges on Thursday for his role overseeing the Helena grow operation of Montana Cannabis.

His three partners, Tom Daubert, Chris Lindsey and Richard Flor, have pleaded or plan to plead guilty to conspiracy to maintain a drug-involved premises.

Flor died in custody in August.

Montana Cannabis revenues were deposited in three bank accounts totaling $1.72 million.

The money will go into the Department of Justice's asset forfeiture fund.
