Barbara P. Werk
Barbara P. Werk, 66, of Hays, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, of natural causes. Wake services were scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at the Hays Boys & Girls Club and will continue until her funeral services, which were scheduled to be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the Hays Boys & Girls Club.
Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements.
Barbara was born on Jan. 4, 1947, in Chinook, to Cecil N. and Evangaline T. (Turcotte) Jones and was raised in Hays. She attended St. Paul's Mission School and the Pierre South Dakota School. Following her school years, she married Roger Lee Jorgensen and their union was blessed with three children.
The couple later divorced, but Barbara continued raising the children with a loving hand. For a number of years, she worked with disabled adults in Billings, but in 2004 she returned to Hays from Billings and married Glen Werk. Barbara enjoyed playing board games, with Aggravation being her favorite, and reading her Bible. She loved her children and grandchildren, all of her animals, the Lord and her many lifelong friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Eva Jones; her brothers, Cecil "Buck" Jones, Medric Jones and James "Jimmy" Jones; and her sisters, Thelma Nicholson, Vernie Jones and Ilene Cheyney.
She is survived by her husband, Glen Werk of Hays; her daughters, Robbie (Keith Hill) Jorgensen of Whitefish, and Lori (Edward) Rehfeld of Eugene, Ore.; her son, Curtis (Kelly) Jorgensen of Billings; her 12 grandchildren; her six great-grandchildren; her sisters, Jeannie Shambo, Sharon Quincy and Leona Fox, all of Hays; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
