Rain possible through holiday

Forecasters were calling for iffy weather for people wanting to celebrate the Memorial Day weekend.

The National Weather Service forecast this morning called for a 90 percent chance of rain tonight, with a 60 percent chance Friday and showers likely.

The forecast calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms through the rest of the weekend, but with temperatures rising and highs predicted in the 70s Saturday through Memorial Day.

The Weather Channel forecast also calls for highs in the 70s, but with a lower chance of precipitation — although the chance jumps up a bit for Monday's holiday, with a 30 percent chance of precipitation predicted that day.

Meanwhile, AccuWeather.com is predicting partly cloudy skies Monday with a 16 percent chance of rain. That service is predicting a 25 percent chance of precipitation Saturday, with a 30 percent chance Sunday of showers or thunderstorms.
