The Hill County Commission has set a public hearing for Tuesday, April 30, for an update on plans to repair some problems with the sewer lines for parts of North Havre.
The county government has been investigating how to best handle the pipes that transport sewage from the unincorporated community under the Milk River to the wastewater treatment plant becoming exposed due to erosion and shifting of the river bed.
The Legislature approved $211.500 for the project through the Treasure State Endowment Program, with a 1-to1 local match required.
Michele Turville of Bear Paw Development Corp. said the hearing, set for 6 p.m. Tuesday in Bear Paw Development's large conference room in the Ryan Building on 2nd Ave., will be for looking for additional funding through the Community Development Block Grant program.
The hearing will include discussions of the proposals for the project, the purpose and proposed area, activities, budgeting, environmental issues and CDBG issues.
